Sunday School News
Sr. High Sunday School Class
We have welcomed Brittaini Ricker as a new
member of our class.
We continue to work at imbedding the truth of scripture into our minds
and hearts. The Bible is the best axiom
on which to base everything we think and do.
The URGENCY of growing closer to Christ is difficult to attain in our
modern sin-saturated world. Prayer by
and for our teens is requested.

Do grass and leaves die?
Answer: Death was not part of the original creation. Genesis 1:29 – 30 – both humans and animals
were vegetarians at the time of creation.
The Bible makes a distinction between plants and animals. The Hebrew word NEPHESH means “breathing
creature” and describes the aspect of life attributed only to animals and
humans. Genesis 1:20 –
21, 24. Plants do not possess
this NEPHESH quality and so cannot die in the scriptural sense. Isaiah 40:7, 1 Peter 1:24.

Say Goodbye to Whining and Complaining and Bad Attitudes
in You and Your Kids
by Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller
Do you remember those idealistic goals you had when you brought your
baby home for the first time? Did those
goals give way to a simple desire to survive each day? What happened?
This book suggests that the key is not in controlling children, but rather instilling
honor into family life.
Included in this book are:
v
Ways to teach honor to your children
v
Biblical solutions to sibling rivalry
v
Practical family activities
v
Much, much more
If you are tired of all the legalistic child-training books and programs
that focus on maintaining control with superficial solutions, apply this book’s
life-changing principles.
I wish they
would remember that the charge to Peter was "Feed my sheep," not
"Try experiments on my rats," or even "Teach my performing dogs
new tricks."

Recall the old
story of the grandmother who was reading the Bible. When her grandson asked her
why, she said, “I’m getting ready for my final exam.”
Youth Group
Come to youth
group and have some fun on your Friday night! This is for 7th grade
and up. We meet at the church weekly @ 6:30 every Friday. The youth group
leaders are Butch Short and Dennis Shilling. We always have supper of pizza or
some type of fast food. We usually go to Dennis’s or stay at the church.
Sometimes we go on “field trips”. We are hoping to go sledding and bowling
sometime soon. When we are at Dennis’s or at the church, we watch movies and/or
play games that help us grow as Christians. Youth group could always use more
teens. “The more the merrier”
